At the time, I did not pay much attention, but it seems to be making sense now. He talks about:
1. Global Tote being one of the main reasons in his decision making process. Says if parimutuel is to survive in Australia, it would be through a product like GT, with all participants being the winner. Specifically says it would provide further liquidity for Tabcorp, if they were to align with GT. Talks about role of BET in TAB in some capacity (in some form even if it be a demerger).
2. Thinks US is the best place for BET to start with.

Obviously there is more to it than just GT but hopefully it's one step closer to understanding what the big picture is....
