I thought I'd raise this point again, maybe someone can clarify.

Calorific value, is the heating value, or energy per density. Its important for modes of transport, and as Len has point out, power generation.

Cougar recently announced a Kingaroy update, stating they had interpreted a 'high' calorific value of 4800-7000 J/M3. I dont see how this is high? Its conisdered low by most industry standards.

Why has Len stated this as being 'high'?

I'm aware that natural gas is around 40,000 J/M3 and CSG isnt meant to be much lower? It would be nice if Len put in some comparisons as the industry seems to use BTU (lbs), and MJ/kg etc. How do we know the density of the syngas?

Would Cougar achieve better results using oxygen injection?

Does anyone know if CNX have brought out CV/BTU values?

I hold, but am learning as we go. Not a down ramp, just a clarification. I know dirty coal power stations wont have high CV's....

Oh btw, cheers KRudd, since everyone else is having a go. Opps forgot to put the space in there.
