FUEL distributor Caltex looks set to push ahead with a proposed $300 million acquisition of 302 Mobil service stations, despite objections from the competition regulator.
This could get interesting, Mr Samual of the ACCC, in an interview tonight on the ABC's business lateline, stated even if Caltex withdrew from the purchase of the 53 mobile stations in dispute, he still would not approve the purchase of the other 249 stations, the reason seems to be IMO 'cause he doesn't like the way they do business'. I wonder who Mr Samual thinks will buy the Mobile stations which will eventually close down if they aren't purchased.
