The media had given the Campbell sisters the medals before they touched the wall at the finish.
That played havoc with their mental strength. i.e. "Talk the talk before the walk"!!
The present day media want to create the news instead of reporting the news.(selling the Olympics)
Its now becoming a circus, when it contributes to losses from our top athletes!
In other words the sisters "huffed and puffed" to the media, and run out of oxygen when it was most needed.
An example of this is the commenting on the mens 100 meter free style. The comments at the 40 metre mark of a female commentator(on Chalmers) have been edited out of the youtube video. That same commentator missed the fast finish from Chalmers!
My observations of our gold medals is, the quite achievers own the Gold.
Having said that I feel strongly for the sisters with that disappointment. After the race Cate was shell shocked!
Meanwhile Bronte was still going strong with the media. Maybe they should have been separated!
Meanwhile Michael Phelps just continues the job of creating more history. Now there is mental strength.
Surely they girls can go well in the 50 metres freestyle. Keep the media away from them and they will.
Now watch the media turn the mens 1500 freestyle into a circus with the so called bad blood between two of the top contenders.
Go Mack!

Phelps is a bloody machine!! What a champion. Really feel for the Campbell girls. They're still winners in my book. Not many people can say they competed at the Olympics at the highest level. Well done girls
