From memory, (correct me if I'm wrong) I don't think the resource was good enough to put through as a concentrate. The grade was not good enough to process without an SXEW facility. So no resource statement came out.
But they know what's there, and I don't think it had much to do with the settlement. CHEMAF are slimy buggers who know how to play dirty. Best friends with 4C and Sally.
Stage II Kinsevere, as we know will be able to process the cobalt which is being stored on site currently. Also if a decision to build a small SXEW plant at Kulu is made, that should help with the move into cobalt. It's still very much on the agenda. It's just been moved down the "to do" list for a while.
With regard to the cancellation of CAMEC's leases, the government opposed CAMEC's bid for Katanga Mining Ltd from the start. Analysts have speculated it does not want to disrupt the joint venture between Katanga and state-owned Gecamines to operate the Kamoto mine.
