Cameroon and China: economic fall out of 40 years of friendship 14/01/2011
Cameroon and the Peoples’ Republic of China have consolidated 40 years of fruitful cooperation.
The highpoint of the celebration was the visit of the Vice Prime Minister of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China to Cameroon.
Hui Liangyu arrived Cameroon for a friendly and working visit. During the three day visit, he held a tête a tête with Prime Minister, Philemon Yang.
At the end of the discussions, three accords were signed between Cameroon and China.
The accords centred on the development of social infrastructure in the country.
Before the events at the Prime Minister’s Office, Li Rou Gu, Chairman and President of the export-import bank of China also called China Exim-bank, paid a courtesy call on Louis Paul Motaze, Cameroon’s Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development.
The discussions between the two dignitaries focused on some nine projects financed by Exim-Bank in Cameroon.
They also concluded two other project- financing agreements. The two new accords all focused on the construction of the Kribi deep sea industrial port complex at Mboro.
