Have I not read what SDL management have said about the chances of them getting funding?

Um, you will have to be more specific, which year are you talking about?

SDL management has been talking about funding since 2008 when the iron ore sector was hot.

If SDL could not garner funding when the IO sector was hot, I'm not sure about it's chances now it is in over supply.

I now listen to the market as well as various other sources than simply rely on a management that has been talking about funding for 6 years but never delivered it.
