There are as well iron ore deposits in Mbalam and the project of exploitation dubbed, "Mbalam Iron Ore Project" manned by the Cameroon Iron Company, (Cam Iron SA). In a press statement signed recently by the CEO of Cam Iron, Roger Bogne, feasibility studies for the Mbalam Iron Ore project are ready and the environmental and social assessment studies already carried out present the management strategies that will enhance social, environmental and economic outcomes for all stakeholders while negotiating potential impacts associated with mining, transport and ports activities. Efforts, he said, are unwavering to secure the Mbalam Mining Permit and land titles in parallel with the completion of the project's convention early this year with the view of concluding the project's financing in no distant future.
