My expectation is the announcement will go something like this..."permit negotiations are progressing well....africans really like us , however after 3 years of negotiating permits we need another 3 months. Hanlong are good and working together blah blah".
My guess is africans don't want inexperienced chinese owning and delaying what is possibly the central piece in a major IO province.
I think the Gabon incident has shed some possible light on that line of thinking.
In fact i don't believe there is a huge chinese presence (as a direct miner) in africa currently when compared to the majors. They would like to be a major force but very far from that at the moment.
C'mon George do the right thing! roll out casello and get him talking with all those previous interested parties.....at least that way we put pressure on chinese to hurry up and get real, as opposed to giving them the keys to the house with an indefinite timeframe to pay........what a joke!
