Relating to the topic of how to protect the cash refund of dividends. I made a suggestion in other threads, how to possibly circumvent Labor's planned changes by receiving the dividends as unfranked credits.
A shareholder pointed out to me at another company’s AGM, that it may need legislative changes prior to the next election. And to use the company’s clout, to pressure the relevant ministers for any amendments that is necessary.
The discussion basically centred on giving the shareholders a choice whether to receive the dividends as franked or unfranked depending on the shareholder’s tax position.
It may be an item that people may wish to discuss with company representatives that they have interest in.
