That's how labor survives- useless jobs that benefit the few and the vast majority who aren't in unions can go to hell.
Labor premiers and prime ministers keep on employing useless unionists and those useless unionists begin voting to keep their jobs. They're welded to the tit of the state and weening them off takes an effort that labor won't make.
