The Kahane Commission (note the spellin') did not exhonerate Sharon. Their finding was that Sharon bore personal responsibility and recommended that he be removed from office if he didnt resign.
There some areas of difference between the Kahane Commission and a Royal Commission as held in Australia. The Kahane Commission took some evidence in secret and has never made public that evidence thereby placing doubt on the credibility of the entire process. The Australian Commission must always make the evidence public.
