My suggestion is to pick up the phone and find out what is happening to diarm your fears.
I expect MR needs to more across the operational part of the business now they are busy on two fronts. A CEO is the main sales person of the organisation, so don't get to too hung up on the director thing remember these guys are medico's and need to lead from that front.
