    Other than for the arrest of the arrest of Australian/Chinese news announcer Cheng Lei by the CCP, I don't expect that much more will happen between now and November 3.

    China currently views Australia as a mouthpiece of the Trump election campaign. Nothing more. Let’s not over complicate it.

    I don't expect an instant return to normality on 20 January assuming a Biden victory. There are too many variables at play within China to predict much.

    There is a chance that the PLA clique within the CCP will ease back a little in the event of a Biden victory but the other variable is Xi's proposed ascension to the title of "Chairman". China’s internal politics need to settle but who knows how long that will take or how many moderate voices will be purged.
