Kingy, we buy more'n we sell so regardless who ends up holding the paper, we must, some day, meet it in full.
They don't want as much coal and iron as they did and the price is deflated, what can we give them in exchange for the mountain of A$s? The creditor will demand value.
If we never sell assets and they don't want our coal, iron, wool how is the trade finalised?
As I said, the creditor can/will demand payment when they hold more of our Pacific Peso than they choose to.
