The simple answer is no, unless you have a wife who is Chinese or a partner (no different to Indonesia). But the issue here is because we do allow foreigners to buy land in Australia when we say no they want to know why. (PS: I don't see the Property Council in Australia saying no to Chinese housing investment in Australia either or investors there as that is also pumping up our property prices). So the question you should ask is should Australia support foreign land ownership of any sought in Australia.
