The market doesn't believe it can survive, let alone pay a 10c dividend. 20c for BBI is a result of panic and fear, as it is with other stocks. What's the downside from 20c with a worst case scenario? Answer: 0c and a 100% capital loss.
What's the upside to BBI in say two years if the world gets through this mess? Answer: Probably around $1.00 (70% of net assets).
So upside of 500%. Downside of 100%. I know on those numbers, I would rather be a buyer at 20c than a seller. Those selling at current prices are either forced sellers (probable scenario) or panic merchants. I'm down $45K on my BBI investment at current prices but very comfortable holding for 2010.
