BOW lost 8 months due to the 1 in 40 year flood. As for getting the gas out of the coal every coal seam is different and you have to de-water according to its characteristics. The gas is there ( and plenty of it ). If you try to de-water too quickly you run the risk of the coals collapsing and fines blocking things up.
BOW has spent a lot of time working around these problems and now that the rains have dried up they are in a position to roll out further 2P reserves. Because of the floods their targets have been put back to mid 2012.
So..., no insurmountable problems. Just work in progress.
And , as the AFR noted recently BOW is worth $3.62 based on the latest metrics of the STO/ESG takeover. Once they reach their targets its' worth will be over $8 per share. That's what these Majors pay for proven energy reserves....the going rate. Nothing complicated about it. In BOW's case it will be just a cheque.
