Remember Standard oil it was basically the only oil company and where is it now, gone.
Takeover threads pop up every now and again and AWE were trading at basically the same price as CVN but eventually went for double.
STO and OSH have been around awhile now and survive.
Look at the biggest oil companies in the world, they survive.
Penny dreadful's just die out or plod along, the list is long.
I would say CVN has progressed to the next level so anyone contemplating takeover would need to pay as the resource has been found and have managed to keep their SOI reasonable.
CVN is not only about Dorado either.
If it happens it happens though but whoever will need to pay more than you suggest.
