Just to clarify the earlier question re off market trades.
Trades are posted manually in one block, rather than throught the liquid real time processes.
They are a mecahnism to facilitate high volume transactions ($1m plus) where there buyer and seller agree on a price. They do flow through to the ASX stats like any other trade.
They are typically used for things like share buy backs, where a price is set. If they went through the normal process they would confuse the system.
If someone like HSBC was buying high volume they would do it off market but it would have to be disclosed if their stakeholding became material.
