One thought I can offer is that SUN may have bought shares on market to fill it's executive share plan. These bonus shares would be for the top guys (a few $M) and at least 100 or more lower level executive types who would be granted varying numbers of shares under the plan as bonuses. Also, I think all staff get a parcel of shares allocated and there are 9,000 odd.
This would add up to a big chunk of shares and the timing would be right. (ie, just after the Annual General Meeting on Monday which approved the remuneration programme.)
