As bitterly disappointing as it is, we cant complain that we werent warned about the Charters Towers stranger danger. Back in 2002 I was annoyed to read this article written by an Australian journalist specializing in prominent Australian corporate collapses and goings on, questioning the value of the old Charters Towers goldfield.
