riggers44, agree the current sp is not flash, certainly down at the moment myself with an average of 17c.
but GBZ is a long term investment, and i hope i wont be worrying about being 5.5c down in a years time.
No doubt good quantities of gold at Malmsbury would be great, and an initial ageement with PP would certainly confirm that GBZ has a global copper giant in its back pocket, and if CDU release a JORC we could also see a small rise for the nearology effect.
But long term it is substantial finds that will propel GBZ to new heights. T2 is an obvious drill target, and if you can wait 6 months, i, the company and all long term holders will be hoping for great results.
however, i am probably more compelled recently to hold for the following reason, have grab bits and pieces from everywhere, hope it makes sense, if you dont like long posts move on.
1-- released on 23/2/10 by Cudeco, page 6 of recent Rocklands update.
"In a release to the market on 3 September, 2009, the Companys deep diamond drilling program resulted in
the deepest hole yet drilled at Rocklands (975m), intersecting a large +200m wide zone of alteration, containing
zones of sulphide mineralisation including massive chalcopyrite (copper mineral) from 600m depth.
The ultra-deep diamond core hole was primarily designed to investigate theories of a possible feeder system
at depth, and potential source of the mineralisation found at Las Minerale. As an exploration hole it
was not intended to be used for resource delineation, or for adding tonnes to the pending Updated Resource
Statement. Never the less, the particular style of mineralisation intersected in the hole has not been
encountered in any previous drill holes drilled at Rocklands, the analysis of which, provides evidence of
large scale IOGG style mineralisation.
2-- from wikipedia a desciption of an IOCG deposit
"Iron oxide copper gold ore deposits (IOCG) are important and highly valuable concentrations of copper, gold and uranium ores hosted within iron oxide dominant gangue assemblages which share a common genetic origin.
These ore bodies range from around 10 million tonnes of contained ore, to 4,000 million tonnes or more, and have a grade of between 0.2% to 5% copper, with gold contents ranging from 0.1 to 3+ grams per tonne (parts per million). These ore bodies tend to express as cone-like, blanket-like breccia sheets within granitic margins, ore as long ribbon-like breccia or massive iron oxide deposits within faults or shears.
The tremendous size, relatively simple metallurgy and relatively high grade of IOCG deposits can produce extremely profitable mines.
3-- released by GBZ 19/2/10 progress report Brightlands page 3
"Two diamond holes ( total of 636 metres) were completed in December to test the very intense T3 IP anomaly. Both holes recorded only anomalous copper and the sulphide mineralisation encountered does not appear to explain the strong Induced Polarisation (IP) chargeability anomaly. The 3D modelling of data from the IP survey previously confirmed a deep target zone for sulphide hosted Cu mineralisation. Work is currently underway to reconcile IP target modelling and what was recovered in the core samples.
4-- internet article on roxby downs Aug 83 by D.E Roberts and GRT Hudson
"A new type of stratabound sediment-hosted ore deposit. The deposit is estimated to contain in excess of 2,000 million metric tons of mineralized material with an average grade of 1.6 percent copper, 0.06 percent uranium oxide, and 0.6 g/metric ton gold. Proterozoic. Graben fill sediments were deposited in an arid subaerial environment during rifting or strike-slip faulting. The stratabound sulfide mineralization is syngenetic or syndiagenetic and is probably related to local volcanism. Uranium and rare earths were deposited during and after the sulfide mineralizing phase. Unusual features are the association of copper, uranium, rare earths, and gold; the association of reduced sulfur species such as chalcocite and bornite with high hematite concentrations; and the occurrence of stratabound copper and uranium minerals in sedimentary rocks deposited in a very high-energy environment"
Now remembering GBZ is an 11.5 cent speccie at the moment, will make a few comments on the above points.
1) Roxby Downs deposited in a very high energy enviroment
2) T3 was a very intense IP anomoly
3) CDU deepest hole went to 975me and intersected a 200+ metre wide zone of alteration at 600me onwards
4) GBZ drilled 2 holes at T3 for a combined depth of 636 metres.
5) the initial estimate of resource at Roxby Downs of 2000 million tons of mineralised material has now been upgraded and keeps getting bigger.
6) IOCG deposits vary from 10 million tons of contained ore to over 4000 million with grades of up to 5% copper.
7) Pan Pacific run at least 2 IOCG mines in Chile, Escondida and Los Pelambres and are also close to opening a third at Caserones.
First of all , Peter, please drill deeper at T3, 636 metres combined over 2 holes. I wonder if he has put 2 and 2 together from the CDU report and potentially realised what we may be sitting on.
Secondly, 2-3 months after the drill RESULT, not actual drill , Pan Pacific show up on our door with an initial minor offer, remembering that Pan Pacific already have 3 mines in there stable that are IOCG deposits.
Who approached who with this deal i wonder?
I know i am taking a giant leap of faith here but we have a high IP anomaly at T3 but probably only went to a depth of 350me at the most in any 1 hole, CDU interesected a 200me + strike with up to 3% copper at 600 metres onwards, Pan Pacific are sniffing around, the masters of IOCG deposits with some of the mines up to and over 4000 MILLION tons of contained ore.
Can you possibly imagine what the shareprice of GBZ would do if we drilled to 900me at T3 in 1 hole, and came up with an intersection of 200+ metres with grades of 3% copper and with Pan Pacific in the back pocket.
Like i said, its a stretch but i will be hoping the analysis of the T3 results Peter is referring to, is to go deeper.
