Jesus which means, God is salvation, from my understanding, was NOT God as in the Almighty God and Father as in One as in Singular.
The man Jesus, was the means in which God's salvation plan was going to be fulfilled.
This plan was in place, before the world existed with God John 17:5, also known as Glory and the word of God 17:22.

He was, is, the 2nd Adam = Man and the first of his life outside of a plan within God, was at conception.
So, he well and truly suffered death.

The fact you say here, God cannot die, should spell out the clear and obvious, just as I say the Bible shows here.
