Good question. I have been thinking about that also.

What I know is that most graphite mines can produce anodes for laptops and mobile phones.

EV battery requirements are more specific. With only some natural graphite mines with the correct graphite to be able to produce anodes for EV batteries. Syrah is a good example, there agreement with Telsa is based on that they can produce the correct Anode requirements by 2025. So they are not there yet.

I think the reason synthetic graphite has been a player in EV batteries for so long is that the manufacturing process gives such good quality anodes. I know its expensive and bad for the environment. But its provides that long life quality and others.

The question is will there be enough correct quality natural graphite mines to sustain the industry.

If the answer is no the below projections could be correct.
