Mathematics is a language (tool) of sciences although it can be regarded as a branch of science. In almost all areas and everyday life, mathematics is being used. As for share market research, both fundamental and fundamental analyses need mathematics, anyway.

On the other hand, when the share markets are modelled, SP, index, indicators, etc are mostly modelled as a function of time and/or more variables.
What most of us want to have in share markets is probably something to predict, forecast the markets/SP and/or find a pattern, precisely.
There are so many patterns and models developed but no universal pattern/model yet.
Only case by case. One model/pattern is almost perfect during a period time but another for another time.
So when many forecasts/predictions are made, one (some) of them may be turned out to be correct after the event.
Therefore, one/a few will claim that he/she/they get(s) it right.
As many mentioned already, there is no holy grail yet or not exist such thing at all for the market/SP forecast.

What is the best method to make profits in the market in long term? Perhaps, good risk/reward management?
Don't rely on just one model and ready to be flexible depending on market conditions?

    Taxi driver's thought.
