Don't think cost is an issue.
If your EV has a flat, then having a spare to get to a charging point
is a necessity.
Outside major cities, there are few charging points.
The other alternative insurance is a light petrol driven generator in the boot.
Technically, doubt that a kilo of aluminium would produce much energy,
but that's a different issue.
