It is inevitable the some form of information is leaked. When human's are involved it just has to happen, even the tea lady over hearing a board meeting comment telling Flo over their evening Sherry.

Is there anything we can learn from the 17 Dec announcement? We are told the board had trading data on the 9 Dec and were in the process of verifying. So we had 5 trading days where that info could have got out in some form:

9 Dec Vol 21.3m Share price gained 7.5c
10 Dec Vol 6.6m Share price lost 4.5c
11 Dec Vol 5.6m Share price no move
14 Dec Vol 5.3m Share price gained 3.5c
15 Dec Vol 12.7m Share price gained 1c
16 Dec Vol 6.6m Share price gained 3c
17 Dec Vol 26.8m Share price lost 18.5c

    So what can we conclude?

If we accept valuable information is leaked then it would be reasonable to assume the figures on 9 Dec were ok or nothing to be worried about outside of what is known - trading volumes were roughly average 9taking out the few massive vol days) and the share price was rising.

Could it be those with privilege information thought the data shows on the right track but were taken by surprise in how the board interpreted this and chose a cautionary path?

Or could we conclude leaks are minimal and what is leaked is simply people putting 2+2 together or in other words just acting on incomplete information like most of us do?

I honestly don't know the answer to how prevalent is leaked information or more importantly how accurate is leaked information.
