I have two houses in the UK. We had a boom whereby they almost quadrupled. I remortgaged up to the max, and used the money as a deposit on our family home here in Australia. That was in 2002. Since then both houses in the UK have remained stagnant. Neither falling, nor rising. So almost 9 years of nothing.
In that time, the house here has doubled. We bought it in 2003.
I think perhaps it is Australia's turn for some flatlining for a while.
