Go to www.tmx.com and enter KMN in the 'get quote' box.

You will then proceed to the KMN quote page in its newly listed TSX guise. There you will find a news item listing short positions - roughly 4 million have been shorted as of 30/9/2010.

1. Notice also that the sell side here is roughly 4 million and
2. The weakness you refer to occurred around the placing of the short position, and
3. A ASX or TSX share is good for delivery - it matters not except for the exchange rate arbitrage

The timing is, as always, interesting as it represents a curt "hello, welcome to the TSX - we're now shorting you!" Same old, same old and par for the course for anything gold and gold related... just hold and wait.

When a re-rating comes it will be swift.

Trading into or out of a 'short attack' provides the liquidity and/or title to shares that the shorters need as they never owned the shares in the first place.
