Well, no one answered this question (apologies to anyone who may have, I must have you on ignore). The reason is because there is no credible explanation, aside from human induced warming.
By the way, natural variation is not an answer, it is a furphy. Even natural variation has an underlying physical explanation.
The whole thing goes to prove how totally nebulous the climate skepticism case really is.
