I can't find reference to them hiring a laser team. Please point me towards it.
The story of market conditions is one that I simply don't buy. The nuclear industry plans strategically in decades, so why would a temporary glut slow them down. More likely they hit as technology barrier, that is being kept under wraps. And now, they're bolstering laser expertise? Conclusion - the technology barrier is the laser. Based on the current status of the appropriate lasers, that was, in fact, a foregone conclusion.
