Yes I've noticed that Team Invest have been spruiking mining services stocks on YMYC for more than two years now - anyone who followed them into those stocks is now a lot poorer.  They focused on quality and value while completely failing to understand (or underestimating) future prospects. Montgomery may have had some bad tips but he's been completely correct in warning investors to stay away from them.

I've been investing for thirty years, and by far the most important thing I've learned is to stay away (or better yet, short) sectors suffering from negative sentiment.   Stocks always go down a lot faster than they go up, and mining services stocks are definitely headed down for at least the next couple of years.
