I usually buy with the intention of holding for years. I usually buy good quality companies experiencing short term negativety and sell when it's share price reflects its value. So in RCR's case, a share price of $3 and a PE 10 is not unrealistic in my opinion.
So to answer your question my holding period can be anywhere between 6months to 5 years. The average would be closer to 12 months though as when a negativity is reversed on quality companies, they usually rise quite fast.
