Mostly right. The Arab nations did get militarily involved through the '50's, '60's and '70's but got their bottom spanked so many times they gave up the frontal approach. As a result what is left is terrorism.
As for Sharon, I think he knew his proposal would get kicked by the Israeli parliament, he is no dove.
And all of this over stupid religions and petty jealousies.
