If someone tells you about a product that is personal advice, just like if an accountant advises a client to do anything in regards to an investment it is investment advice.
so lets assume your mate is a broker at Opes and he says hey you should stop trading with Tricom and trade with me at Opes, sorry but thats persoanl advice because they are selling a product and service.
the only way around it is if someone comes across the product without getting any advice, ie arent recommended to use it. how many brokers at Opes (50 or something) and none of them ever tried to pickup a client?
no matter what the FSG says, if a broker provides personal advice then they better have a good PI policy. That will be the first thing the legal guys try and get at.
