alphasigma I'm guessing that huge postions were taken by someone (the brokers themselves trading?) which could not be closed without massive losses.
Given they specialise in lending/shorting and there haven't been any spectacular crashes in the past couple of weeks I'm guessing those positions were shorts (AFG?) which turned bad. But whether short or long, the net result can be the same.
