Whatever “outside influence” was coming into Ukraine affected only Ukraine, did not affect Russia and should not have been Russia’s concern.
Or are you suggesting that Russia needed to invade Ukraine - and then proceed to utterly destroy Ukrainian civilian infrastructure - to prevent Ukraine’s planned and impending invasion of Russia? Do you have evidence that Ukraine was planning such an invasion?
