can we believe what we see?

    4 Corners tonight presented on the increasing rate of change in deep fake issues, with AI complementing the confusion as to our ability to believe what we see, eg. Biden saying he is a communist, as credible.

    we saw this debate back in 2020 when Biden was running against Trump. now its much more "real".

    and social media are the biggest sites for deep fakes where the regulation of credibility is non-existent. I've seen so many posts that truly look ridgy didge but the words and expressions, though close to what one would expect, jar with perceptions of the target already established.

    yet some believe that these are really real. and maybe they are.

    this is my point: how can we now believe anything we see on the Internet when AI can confuse reality with fantasy at the whim of the compositor of the video we watch?
