    Hindog - there are a large number of serious posts already on the forum tonight.

    Particularly refer to comments about algorithms being used by minor (read micro) parties to share preferences - employing some mathematical guy out of Sydney. These ensure that the micro parties do not allow their preferences to spill out into the larger parties, thus leapfrogging them and ultimately one of them getting elected.

    It's a very recent phenomenon but it's with us now - and it is not really any different to The Greens and Democrats before them manipulating the system to gain unrepresentative or disproportionate power to their level of support. The times they are a changing. It will have to be reviewed imho because if not next Senate election will be farcical. The secret is out - the system is basically flawed.
