Also, why would CM buy into Key if he's just got rid of it as a dud? seems a little odd if you buy back into what you previously owned.

According to the official line from EGO they got rid of the Canning assets in order to focus specifically on their Perth Basin assets.

Judging on their announcement today it looks like things are progressing fairly well for the plant to start construction in July/August this year.
