Immigration and foreign students has fired up the housing market, along with the other aspects like halving of the CGT, record low interest rates.

But now we have pressures colliding; we have a lot of insecure workers paid flat wages. This is finally coming home to roost.

I think the employment numbers are deceptive. We don't have Covid19 under control and the new variants are going to rise exponentially as we're uniquely vulnerable due to extremely poor vaccine roll out.

In other words, I think things are going to tighten in the real estate market. A banker friend thinks so too.

You said this "I think the employment numbers are deceptive." Have you looked at Roy Morgan on this? They use old methodology rather than the "worlds best practice" ABS nonsense. http://www.roymorgan.com/morganpoll/unemployment/underemployment-estimates

Shadowstats is also a great source of information.
