Guys it all comes back to getting a good long term volume production contract - which in 'normal' defense market terms would be provided by the host inventing country. Yeah the Aust DOD - just imagine if they had put 1% of the money they have poured into the Collins class into equipping Aust infantry with MST MAUL or 3 GL - yeah a lot better tool for fighting insurgents in urban environments. But instead MST have to go cap in hand to the US and Canada etc.
