    That's not a rationale, all your saying is that they were cheap because their share price was lower than it was beforehand. Cheap and oversold often go hand in hand for people who don't understand the market. If they are cheap you must have some methodology as to why it is cheap. Because BHP sell commodities, the more they sell at higher prices the more profitable they are which should in time translate to a higher share price. Reverse logic applies the other way. So unless you are a complete novice or someone who sells and buys because other do then so as you hit the sell or buy button with BHP you are making an opinion on the price of their commodities which is effectively what people are discussing here. That is the point that they are making.
