Nicely spotted ... I know it sounds far fetched, but I feel it is possible that these current issues are tied up somehow in any potential development of Cougar's Victorian project.
Those brown coal power stations are aging and are the dirtiest in Australia ... The Victorian Govt has a huge problem looming when carbon emmissions are costed ... the surface gasification project announced last week at something like $750mill for 400MW has me scratching my head! A ucg project could be $200mill to $250mill cheaper ($400mill for the power station and just $100mill to $150mill for the syngas field and gas preparation facilities).
