The area of ??Petrobras E & P will propose to the company's board drilling two new exploratory wells in the area of ??the ring fence Piranema field, the first discovery of economically viable in the deep waters of the Northeast. The field produces from October 2007.


Recent discoveries in the ring fence the area encouraged the Petrobras technicians. The last one is estimated about 15 million barrels of recoverable oil. The oil, with 44 ° API, was found in sandstone reservoirs of the post-salt, the 2693 m deep, with the completion of drilling of the 3-PRM-12-SES. The well was drilled at the northern end of the concession area, about 28 km from the coast of Sergipe, in water depths of 800 m.


The discovery is the result of the exploratory strategy of Petrobras to intensify work near production fields (Planóleo), as has been done in Pampo and Barracuda, in the Campos Basin in 2010. The plan aims at building the capacity of existing facilities, reduce production costs and streamline the production of new volumes of oil.



Petrogal makes three wells


Petrogal scheduled to drill three wells on the firm ground of the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin this year. The company intends to make a well in block SEAL-T-412 and two others in T-429-SEAL. Depending on the result obtained with the firm wells, the company can drill a new well in each block tariff.
