Canada secures Iraq wheat deal: report By Richard Reynolds
Canada's wheat board has reportedly just clinched a deal to sell almost half-a-million tonnes of wheat to Iraq.
The Canadian Wheat Board declined to comment on the news from Iraq, but Canadian media is reporting that the country has indeed secured a medium-sized contract to sell over 400 tonnes of wheat to Iraq.
Just like AWB, the Canadian Wheat Board has a monopoly on overseas wheat sales.
Canadian officials at the United Nations reportedly helped bring AWB's alleged kickback to organisation's attention.
