Did anyone else hear the report on the ABC last night about the oil sands in Canada. I was half asleep, but what I recall is that through a mixture of open cut mining and steam injection mining, Canada is sitting on a oil supply only slightly smaller than the Saudi reserves.
1000 million barrels with 500 million recoverable (i think).
Mining of this oil is only just now becoming economic, the price of oil i suppose, and will only become more economic as the supply of oil dries up.
Anyone with further info it would be appreciated.
