From today's AFR:
billionaire Canadian mining bigwig has raised an Aussie gold and nickel glass to his lips.

Street Talk understands Ivanhoe Capital founder Robert Friedland was a big buyer in ASX-listed Chalice Gold Mines' $30 million capital raising last Tuesday, handled by Bell Potter Securities and Euroz Securities
Sources said Friedland snapped up about half of the placement – somewhere in the order of 14 million shares – or about 0.5 per cent of Chalice's shares on issue at completion of the raising.
And the move has (understandably) caused a bit of a stir in the mining sector.
After all, Friedland has about four decades experience in resources – including founding Toronto-listed Ivanhoe Mines which has a market cap north of $C3.5 billion.
