'There was movement at the station word had passed around'.
Well, a predictable [post 76592877] spin-out of Great Pacific Gold has finally been
released. Walhalla Gold Corp- is now our new neighbour.
GPG: Walhalla is a very exciting Gold Project. After a multi-year period assembling
the large 1,400 sq/km land package in Victoria, the time was right to undertake this
transaction and GPG is now offering their shareholders a 1:1 Holders will receive one
share of Walhalla Gold Corp for every share of Great Pacific Gold.
****
This current move by GPG started back in 2016 when Kirkland Lake acquired Fosterville
and Stawell gold mines. Rex Motton, one of Fosterville's founders immediately set out to
'Cherry pick' central and eastern Victoria's gold fields for Fosterville South a Canadian
company bankrolled by Eric Sprott, Ross Baty and institutions.
This tight group saw their investment in Victoria as - 'One of the world's most important
districts for high-grade gold'.
****
Rex Motton key Geo for six producing WA gold fields, with Currawong resources and
over a three-year period-selected-five- tenements in Walhalla and -one- in Bendigo
called Lauriston.
Recent drill results from Lauriston in 2024 revealed:
8m at 106 g/t au. 5m at 166 g/t. 2m at 413 g/t. 1m at 468 g/t and 1m at 358 g/t. Lauriston
is immediately south of Fosterville and is remarkably similar to Kirkland's -'early'- hit of
7m at 156 g/t au. [hold that thought]
****
GPG acquired Fosterville South in June 2023 and Greg McCunn took over as CEO in 2024.
He then proceeded to focus on the company's gold projects in PNG rather than their assets
in Victoria.
****
Lauriston was first to be off-loaded and is still waiting for a final settlement. [Agnico Eagle
a bidder?] Golden Mountain was sold to Adelong gold in February 2025 and Reedy Creek/
Providence was taken over by Golden Cross Resources in April 2025.
****
Which now paves the way for GPG to proceed on their 1,400 sq/km land package within the
150 km long Walhalla /Woods Point Gold Zone. GPG's primary focus is on Cohens Reef at
the Southern end of the goldfield with an historic production of 68 tonnes of gold from a single
mineralized shoot and -'The Pinnacles'- highlighted by a 400 by 1,100 meter, dyke which contains
disseminated [shot through] sulfides and large outcrops at the surface.
****
Rock chip sampling from these outcrops yielded 1m at 1 g/t au. 18m at 328 g/t and 26m at 206 g/t.
The Pinnacles -just south of the Kaisers A1- is dominated by the Golden Lilly fault zone with a strike
length of five km [5] and a series of -dozens- of rich historical gold shoots mined with primitive tools
with no modern assessment or drilling throughout its length. Until now!
Strong au-as-epizonal signature of solid mineralization, is likely an intrusion related Gold Target.
These systems are characterized by large zones of parallel sheeted gold bearing quartz veins and
veinlets. [Think Fosterville-Costerfield]
Over 108 tonnes of reef gold and 12 tonnes of alluvial gold has been -'recorded'- [not all] in the
Walhalla gold fields.
****
After analysing Lauriston's exceptional drill hits one would have thought that this tenement was a
hold. But not so. Greg McCunn selected Walhalla's Cohens Reef / Pinnacles as the best prospect
out of the original [6] gold leases chosen by Rex Motton and Currawong.
The 2018 'under-ground' radar in the Alps obviously played a major role in the company's decisions.
[Think Fosterville's 2006 and 2009 seismic surveys]
Another factor would be the resurgence of the exploration activity due to the success of Southern
Cross/ sandy creek discovery and the $24million+ A1 mine upgrade just north of the 'Pinnacles'.
KAUs big spend was no gamble, especially with increasing M&A activity. [follow the money trail]
[This was the time to back up the truck]
Pinnacles is a plum project with the same age gold and geological setting as Fosterville and the
sheer size and potential of the tenement is a win-win for our newbie-Walhalla Gold Corp.
****
Finally, all we need now is for Kaiser to drill into a long 3m wide shear zone similar to the Single
Golden Shoot that yielded 1.4m/oz at 32 g/t au at Cohens reef. And Bob's Your Uncle.
Destiny is all
